KEVIN JOHNSON WINS YOUNGSTOWN AX
Shane Sewell Dominates AX Lites
AURORA, Ill. (February 1, 2008) – Team Faith’s Kevin Johnson passed Suzuki’s Robbie Reynard on lap nine of twenty five to win his second Toyota AMA Arenacross series main event of the year. Reynard bolted off the starting line to win the $750 Toyota Certified Used Vehicle hole shot award ahead of Kevin Johnson, Keith Johnson and Teddy Maier. Home town favorite, Monster Kawasaki rider Brock Sellards , started sixth and struggled through the night finishing seventh overall. Points leader Chad Johnson was also plagued with a bad start running ninth. Chad was able to work his way to fifth on the night. TiLube Honda rider, Teddy Maier was able to gain points on Johnson with an impressive third place finish.
In the Arenacross Lites class Shane Sewell took home the $250 Toyota Certified Used Vehicle hole shot award and led every lap to win the main event. Suzuki’s Cory Green passed Honda’s Kyle Brown on lap sixteen complete the podium
Racing returns to the Chevrolet Arena tomorrow at 7:30 PM.
